A lady with what looks like aviator goggles over a hat with ties holding a cigarette. She wears a sundress, with some sort of patterned fabric, the dress is trimmed with a large pocket and a solid color binding for trim.

When I saw this photo I remembered that my Mother had a dress like this in the 1950’s.  Perhaps it was a dress that she made from one of those Butterick patterns..or Simplicity.

Update from Iggy:
Roy Oliver Young Oertli (b. 30 Jul 1894 - d. 13 Dec 1958), son of Arnold and Christina Oertli, lived in Aberdeen and later in Ordway, Brown, South Dakota with his sister Edna (b. Sep 1886 d. ?) Roy and Edna appear to have never married. Rose nee' Krueger was married to Walter Oertli, and appears to have been a cousin-in-law (but I didn't find the exact linkage between Walter and Roy). Rose was Martha's sister.

In the 1920 US Census, Martha Margaret Krueger Nack (Mar. 30, 1883 - Jun. 11, 1971) is listed as a nextdoor neighbor to Rose and Walter Oertli, living in Eldred, Cass, North Dakota.

Melvin Florence and Adele Strunk.

I am writing to you as I saw your posting of old photos. I am the granddaughter of Florence Strunk in the photo you posted!
Adele Strunk Or my " auntie dala" as I called her growing up is also pictured as well as my great uncle Mel. All are deceased at this time, and of all days for me to find your site, I am tonight going to see psychic medium John Edwards in Chicago where I live, in the hopes of hearing from my grandma Florence, and my aunt dala. I would love to acquire the photos for my mother for Christmas this year if possible! Please let me know what if anything I can do to try to make it a merry Christmas for my mom, as she misses her mother Florence every day still. I am sure I have heard the names of the others pictured in the second photo also, but I don't want to ruin the surprise by asking my mother about them. Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to post the photos. It made me cry when I saw my grandma aunt and uncle as young adults in the photo. I hope to hear from you very soon! Teresa

The comment that was left said “ Thank you yes that is my husband Larry and his mother at Lotus Lake( Excelsior, Minnesota). That was the same year Larry was adopted. They lived on Carver Beach Road. Yes, it would be interesting to see more pictures of the Strunks. I thought I had seen all of them, but this picture I have never seen!”
