Brown was the photographer at No. 19 West Main Street Marshalltown, Ia.
A rather severe looking woman, with a lace collar and a brooch, her gown has trims and buttons.  She probably has a hair rat in the front of her hair. Hair rats were usually made of collected hair and then rolled into a shape and then your own hair was rolled and pinned around it.  Hair rats made your hair have more volume.

Update from Jacqi:
Rose Belle was born in April, 1874, in New York. She apparently married Dr. Alfred G. Doust in February, 1906, effectively resigning her teaching position at that point.

Dr. Doust must have been previously married, because the 1910 census shows the household with four children, but Belle claiming she was mother of only two. The oldest, possibly twins, were Irving Albert and Maud. Rosabel, born about 1907, and her younger brother Alfred Webb Doust, were Belle's two children.

Alfred Webb Doust was buried in Oakwood Cemetery in Syracuse in November, 1995, as was Belle's step-son, Irving, in 1966. Belle, herself, passed away on New Year's Day in 1928, and is buried in the same cemetery. The doctor followed her in 1947.

Update from Jacqi:
If it is Harris, there was a James and Lydia Harris from Pymosa, Cass County, in Iowa in the 1900 census. However, he was about 74 years of age by then. That couple got married in 1857.

That James Harris died in 1912 and was buried in Atlantic Cemetery, along with his wife, Lydia. James was first married to Elizabeth Lamb she died in 1854 shortly after giving birth to Wilson Lamb Harris.  James married Lydia in October of 1856.  James died from an accidental gunshot wound.

Check out this link: It is good reading and this photo is found there.  So we have a positive ID!

From Jackie:
James Harris's profile on WikiTree  Karl -  Good evening from the frozen tundra in Iowa. You can't imagine how happy your post made me!  James Austin Harris is my third great grand uncle. I descend from the Harris family through his brother Barnabus "Barney" Arthur Harris. The picture you see on my wikitree is what a cousin sent me for inclusion, but neither of us have the full photo. The Harris's were a family that seemed to believe in a lot of photos except for James (there is only one other of him that I know of) and another brother who joined the U.S. Cavalry during the civil war and was killed in an Indian fight while serving at Fort Laramie at the end of the war. (I am lucky on him in that another cousin did send me a copy of the one photo we know of in existence for him.  I would love to receive that photo - and of course
reimburse for costs. And I would also love to know where it was found. The Harris clan and the Peacock clan intermarried several times with several of the Peacocks moving to Minnesota. My guess is that may have been how it might have migrated there. (I am guessing as to where it was found after taking a look at the webpage.)  And by the way - I can't remember who it was on that page that was complimentary of the Wiki writeup - but that just made my day. When I started the Wiki it was my intent to put some meat on the bones of the family members that I could find. Apparently this page succeeded a bit - and for that I am grateful.  Let me know what information you need - or feel free to pass along my address. I really appreciate you making the effort to contact me.  Jackie

Update: I think this is Christian L. Brockmann or  Brockman born 1880. His parents were Theodore Brockmann and Louise Rock Brockmann.  Chris married Amanda Wieck in Clinton Iowa on April 18 1906.  They had at least two children Esther Brockman born June 23 1908 ( Married Ralph Roy Simon Oct 17 1931) and Marvel born June 22 1907.

Amanda is buried in Evergreen Cemetery Grand Mound Clinton County Iowa.  She was born in 1887 and died in 1910.  C.L.Brockman is also buried there 1880 to 1934.  His Dad Theodore kept the Brockmann spelling, but Christian dropped the extra n at some time, his headstone is marked Brockman.

Feb 1869 d. ) and had son, Harley H (b. 11 Jan 1892 d. ) - John and Ellen moved to Oakland, Boone, Nebraska by 1920 and back to Valley, Polk, Iowa in 1930. Harley Herbert Miller appears to have married a Mary G. By 1930, they had an extensive family of at least 5 children and were living in Cedar Rapids, Boone, Nebraska. By the time of the WWII draft (post 1940), the Harley Miller's were living in Nampa, Canyon, Idaho.

From Jimmie Dee:
Emma Kickbush  Born Unknown  Died 1948   Riverside Cemetery Menominie Michigan

From Jacqi:
There is a 1910 census record for an Emma Kickbush living in Little Valley, Cattaraugus County in New York, with her husband's name listed as Gustave A. Kickbush. They were married for eight years at that point. Gustave was a German immigrant, arriving in New York in 1878.

The couple can also be found in the same town in the 1930 census.

Also in Gustave's household (in the 1910 census only) was Gustave's stepdaughter, Flossie Olmstead. Eighteen years old and born in New York, she was listed as single at the time.

Emma's record in that 1910 census showed her as mother of two children, only one of whom was still surviving.
